Las Vegas, Nev., USA – 13 February 2014 – Visualization pioneer Barco LiveDots is proud to announce that it was recognized along with Niles Creative Group for their innovative LED display at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, Texas in the Arts, Entertainment & Recreation category with a 2014 DSE Silver Apex Award. Barco received the honor at Digital Signage Expo’s opening-night banquet at the Sands Expo & Convention Center.
Chosen from a field of more than 100 entrants, the winning project was a collaboration between Barco LiveDots and Niles Creative Group, which partnered in the design, development and execution of a uniquely interactive, 360-degree LED video wall located in the Freedom Hall foyer of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
An awe-inspiring tribute to Americana
The wall is comprised of Barco LiveDots C5 LED display tiles, comprising four individual 21’ x 50’ surfaces, mounted with 90-degree corner joints to form a 360-degree, 200’ x 21’ seamless display installed 27’ in the air. A video exhibition entitled “We the People” presents a theatrical tribute to Americana, featuring photorealistic, seamless imagery wrapping the foyer’s upper walls, and delivering crisp detail and rich color despite bright ambient light. Barco was consulted by renowned media artist David Niles of Niles Creative Group to provide the technological expertise necessary to create a new display solution to achieve his vision. Niles designed, built and installed an innovative media and content delivery system and software to show an amazing experience.
